Jeremy, a native of Lake Bromoseen, VT grew up with a variety of animals, be they dogs, cats or chickens! A career in the veterinary field seemed a natural choice for Jeremy. Soon after moving to Gilford, NH in 2007, he joined the Meadow Pond team and is now our head technician, skilled in surgical monitoring, dentistry, patient care and client service. When not at work, Jeremy spends him time watching movies and hiking with his son, Nathan and snuggling their cat Alvin.
Colleen was raised in the White Mountains and has always been surrounded by animals. Starting at an early age riding horses and helping to take care of the family's diverse array of animals including goats, horses, dogs, cats, iguanas, finches and many more! Colleen could never imadgine a career without animals so she obtained her B.S. in Equine Business Management at Johnson Wales University and went on to manage a performance horse barn after college. She is excited to continue her animal career with us at Meadow Pond! In her spare time, you will likely find her outside kayaking, horseback riding, camping, walking her dog Gracie, or skiing.
Born and raised in the heart of Tamworth NH, Rae learned the importance of taking care of not only dogs and cats, but also a variety of farm animals. Rae’s love for all animals started on a farm where she spent most of her time raising cows, chickens, turkeys, and pigs. If you couldn’t find her on the farm, you could find her at the Tamworth Fire Department where she was a volunteer fire fighter for four years. Rae likes to spend her spare time with her family, and on the trails riding ATV’s and dirt bikes!
Erin-Marie, also known as EM, is a Massachusetts native who grew up with a great love and curiosity of all animals. Em previously ran childrens programs from Cape Cod to Farmington, NH where she instilled the importance of the animal- human bond as well as the environment. She has always gone to great lengths providing interim care for injured wildlife until they could be brought to Rehabilitation Centers. Ems love of animals drove her to attend courses to obtain her Veterinary Technician degree and she joined our Meadow Pond Family in April,2017 to start her new carreer path. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Bill; her two dogs Scowt and Hobbs and her chickens! They all enjoy an active lifestyle of boating, hiking, scuba, photography, snowboarding and building Bon Fires!
Michelle grew up here in the beautiful Lakes Region and spent the last 20 years teaching middle school biology and environmental science in Gilford. Michelle earned a Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Hawaii in 1995, while her husband served there in the US Navy. Upon returning home to New Hampshire, she earned a Master's Degree in science education from Plymouth State University. Michelle has always had a love of the natural world, particularly all the amazing animals that live in our local habitats. The Martin house has always been filled with a variety of pets and rescued creatures as the whole family has a true love for animals. After 20 years in education she decided it was time for a change and is very excited to be a part of the caring team of doctors and staff at Meadow Pond Animal Hospital. Michelle and her husband John have lived in Sandwich for over 20 years where they have raised 3 amazing children and currently share their home with 3 dogs, a ball python and a crested gecko. When not working in the animal hospital, Michelle enjoys hiking, coaching volleyball and snuggling with her 3 fur babies.
Shayna, our very own crazy cat lady, joined our ranks in May, 2017. Joining the Meadow Pond Animal Hospital family, where she could work with cats every day seemed like a no brainer. Shayna grew up in southern New Hampshire and graduated from the University Of New Hampshire in 2015 with a B.A. in zoology and a minor in animal behavior. In addition to cats, Shayna has a strong passion for local wildlife. In her sparetime when she is not cuddling her three cats, you will likely find her at the local wildlife center. Shayna volunteers at not one, but TWO nearby centers where she works with anything from baby birds, to skunks and porcupines. Any other spare time in her busy schedule is spent hiking the White Mountains, which is her absolute favorite activity.
Born and raised in Lawrence, MA, Mary Annes love for God's creatures, great and tiny, led to her pursuit of degrees in biology and microbiology. She and her husband, Mark, have worked together in scientific research throughout the country for over 30 years. They have raised two wonderful daughters, Nicole and Kelly, and their home has never been without loving furred, feathered, finned, scaled and/ or shelled kids. Tilly and Misty are their newest family members! Hurricane Katrina ultimately blew the Alliegro Lab to the Marine Biological Labratory in Woods Hole, where Mary Anne continued as Sr. Research Associate. She later joined the NOAA Science Aquarium, training Atlantic harbor seals and caring for nearly 100 marine species. Finally settled where they consider home, the Alliegros love New Hampshire and its great outdoors. Mary Anne is thrilled to join the MPAH Team, serving local clients and their families, where her job is wonderfully fulfilling and every day is a new adventure!
Allison was raised in Gorham, NH where she learned to love and care for all animals that she encountered. Caring for her geriatric, diabetic family cat as a child, made her fall in love with veterinary medicine and all the slobber and fur that it came with. Allison obtained her degree in Veterinary Technology from Vermont Technical College. She especially enjoys being involved with geriatric patient care and surgical monitoring. On her off time, Allison loves to reel in fish, photograph wildlife, and run with her four-legged hound Thor.
Before joining our Meadow Pond Animal Hospital Team, Adam and his wife Hannah lived nearly a decade in the South African wilderness where they managed a wildlife facility specializing in the rehabilition and release of orphaned Chacma Baboons. After they relocated back to their home country, continued involvement with animals was a top priority. Adam grew up in the Washington D.C. metro area and now resides with his wife, three dogs (Knuckle, Frangipani and Indiana Jones) and a cat named Downtown Judy Brown in the backwoods of Parsonfield. Maine. Any spare time is spent rescuing wildlife, playing guitar and rooting for any and all Washington D.C. sports teams, and dreaming of owning another Land Rover one day.
